Pros

Great company that is going through a large growing phase. Most groups in the company still have a small company feel. Huntsville location is being manage by great leaders.

Cons

Benefits are starting to lag behind other DoD Contractors. MTSI having an ESOP is good enough to outweigh other lagging benefits. Corporate is adopting a large company mentality. Policies are being placed by headquarters/Exec. Team without considering the feedback provided from employees.

Pros

- Benefits are definitely above average for the DoD industrial complex - Company leadership is solid and level-headed - Many employee appreciation events throughout the year - Healthy semi-annual bonuses - Overall a great work environment

Cons

- Vesting period for ESOP is a little long (6 years for 100%) - You only get 10 of the 11 federal holidays and have to use PTO or flex time to cover the 11th should you choose to take off for it - The company leaned to the "conservative side" when it came to Covid protocol. Employees were required to be 100% in-office by mid-2021. Don't expect to do any telecommuting or hybrid work schedules here.

Thanks for taking time to post a review. It sounds like you have a very positive impression of MTSI so far which is great to hear! You highlighted a few key differentiators for MTSI. MTSI's total compensation strategy seeks to achieve a balance between short and long term incentives. Our ESOP is vested partially over six years as a long term incentive (retirement benefit) for co-workers to contribute to the long term success of the team. I would compare this to other companies which offer rewards mostly for short-term growth. MTSI seeks to be an enduring company focused on long term success of our co-workers, customers, and the missions we support. To balance the ESOP as a long term incentive, we offer semi-annual performance bonuses as a short term incentive. Another retirement benefit/incentive, MTSI's 6% 401k matching plan, is vested immediately. For remote work options: some of our teams, especially working classified programs, must be on site nearly 100% of the time. Other teams have gone almost fully remote over the past few years. We are trying to better highlight on-site vs hybrid vs remote work in our job postings and we work with our customers to create more flexible and hybrid opportunities when possible. Just wanted to clarify a few of your points regarding our total compensation plan. Thanks again for sharing your feedback.
