Pros

Nice teammates and convenient location

Cons

CEO says he want to replace workers with AI, pay well under industry standard, outdated systems that turn any task into a frustrating ordeal, misinformation and hate for union from management, negative office culture since everyone is depressed from being treated like numbers, no perks, difficult to get the right information, toxic management, resentful of disabilities and family commitments in workers, customers are angry because processes are kept as cheap as possible and they are kept waiting, no collaboration between departments, management don’t care about anything except staff being in the office as much as possible and hate WFH, higher management have poor morals

Pros

I came to work as a Customer Service Specialist in 2022 after my previous job became a hot dumpster fire. I am smart enough that I worked my way up to the career ladder. Now I work, in insurance as a case manager. One thing I can say that was positive is that it was really easy to move states with this job. I was originally a Perth hire, now I moved to Melbourne. Friendly people, great staff, and I felt supported with my decisions. Good offices. I started in a better fund environment, which had people who actually cared about their jobs, than what I have now. I have progressed so much in my career here within 3 years that I never thought possible.

Cons

Bad pay and workload can be stressful. Now as a case manager, I work sporadically managing my cases and offloading it because my cases are becoming very unmanageable. Training is laughable at best. I've trained and supported staff at my previous job as a bartender/bar supervisor/bar manager and even my training was better than my current job and that was done by instinct, practise also I'm a qualified bar manager. I don't learn much, training is very generic and it's not even fund specific. Systems constantly break upon usage and quite old. Systems you need to use can take a while to be fixed or provided. I hated IT here since I started. So I started calling them every day to get it fixed immediately. The systems are just band aids to an ever growing problem. Management gets paid more than we can when they don't even fix it. Management will gaslight you, inflexible and least accommodating to people with disabilities.
