Pros

If employed by MV you will only make slightly less than you would on unemployment.

Cons

Lowest pay in the industry Substandard medical insurance coverage for a family $630.00 every pay check !! Terrible working conditions Management is clueless No work/life balance No parking whatsoever !! Required to walk 1/4 mile (to park illegally) while management and other departments have access to parking garage. Often work with no breaks or lunch

Pros

It's a job and everyone needs a job to survive.

Cons

I use to like working for MV several years ago when they actually had a good staff. However they started going down the drain once the best dispatchers left or fired (Mabry, Cooper, Randolph, and Diana). Since they have left we have to work with people that are inconsidered, careless, useless, and just plan stupid. The main issue will be the scheduling department which have no clue how to schedule trips on a manifest. They really need to be trained as drivers first before trying to put together a schedule.

Pros

Meeting some awesome passengers. The good feeling you get from helping your passengers be independent.

Cons

The constant threats of being fired. The horrible conditions of the equipment with the band aid fixes. The hourly safety messages that say keep hydrated, but no bathroom breaks. No food or drink unless out of the drivers seat. No time to eat in 10-12 hour shifts. Management having meetings where they ask for feedback and input and then do just the opposite. They make up rules as they go along and fail to advise their employees. The killing of workplace moral. The company presenting an international safety award to one of its drivers and the CEO not bothering to be the one to present it to the awardee.
