Fast career advancement through the ranks. The company doesn't care if you have qualifications greAter than undergrad. You can move up without needing this.

Cons

The business model isn't very stable outside of Australasia and recent growth has been inorganic. Not very good at managing severance.

Pros

Good if you work with the right people on the right projects. Good place to learn from the best in infrastructure. Expanding into new markets.

Cons

Suffers from over expansion and proliferation of the Macquarie myth. A lot of people living of reputations. Treats analysts like disposable assets. Overall a good place to start a career but don't believe the loyalty myth - it is now too big to be loyal!

Money. Looks good on your CV. Can be interesting work at times. You can learn a lot from the people you work with.

Cons

You have to work long hours. I find mgt can be somewhat unconcerned about the impact that work has on your personal life.
