Depending on the executive you support, working at Macquarie can be a great place to work.

Cons

Disjointed management. The EA's have a separate manager and are treated differently from all other employees. Very few paths to grow in company while supporting current team.

Provided breakfast, lunch, and snacks - however I think the motivation is to keep you at your desk/phone constantly.

Cons

The most unfriendly work environment I've ever experienced. It's not hostile, but very cold and impersonal. Was told I would be part of a team coming in and was essentially left to sink or swim on my own with the appearance of my supposed team OK with me drowning. Boss was super secretive and exclusionary in protection of his personal PnL. Everyone wanted to get a piece of the revenue without lifting a finger.

Nothing - they lie through their teeth to get you to join with empty promises. Don't believe this company and the people who work here. Pretty impressive how this bank makes headlines for all the wrong reasons - so much truth to the fact that the culture is abusive.

Cons

No work life balance The worst compensation I received Abusive managers, horrible HR/recruiting staff (acting supreme and entitled despite Macquarie not even being a top tier US bank) Lies, lies and more lies - only regret was staying here longer than I should have. A naive (and easily duped) colleague convinced me to but I ended up learning the hard way - never again.
