Pros

Decent salary, benefits, generally nice people. Good discounts on Macy's merch.

Cons

If you have a bad people leader, you're screwed. Some Learning and Development team members have zero experience in actual learning environments. Tenure at Macy's is more important than experience or graduate level education in the learning, organizational development field.

Career advancements are minimal and employees are encouraged to move laterally, though that is hard to do.

A great company to work for, despite the trouble they've been having with sales.

Pros

Everyone in the Cincinnati office is genuinely nice, great benefits such as 15 day minimum paid vacation, 14-16 week maternity leave (8week paternity leave), and competitive pay.

Cons

Sales keep declining and there have been tremendous layoffs throughout the past three years. Constantly worried about your job security, especially following declining holiday sales.
