Pros

somewhat flexible with hours and mostly flexible with asking for days off. decent employee discount? can't think of any other pros...

Cons

low pay. lack of support from management for sales people. no loyalty to workers who have been with the company for a long time. seemingly greedy and cheap company.

Pros

20% Employee Discount from first day Always hiring, easy to get a job with this company Dress Code for women is "black", so you can save money on your working wardrobe Dress Code for men is "black" shirt & pants, or Black Suit with any color shirt as long as you wear your jacket.

Cons

Training is minimal....need to be self motivated Being tardy is not tolerated Weekly report card system reminds you of being back in 3rd grade Store Managers are NEVER on the floor, unless there is a district/regional visit & then it is "crisis management mode" for everyone Generally speaking most associates are unhappy A lot of Rah-Rah for opening new charge accounts...you can be a great salesman but if you do not open new accounts you will be written up

Pros

Macy's has always tried to revampine and restructure their management and the way they operate the company and I think that's what makes a great company, not because of doing whats best for the company, but taking the time to work with their fellow coworkers and associates in all stores to hear them out, and take words into actions.

Cons

Lately, Macys has developed a scorecard for zoned areas and one of Macy's main priorites is "Teams Win". With that being said, the scorecard had every associate struggling to do better than the other and we were fighting over customers to beat our personal competition, our fellow coworkers in an aggressive manner...and I find that very distirbing...HOWEVER, with a new scorecard that I did hear they are developing...this would be more toward fighting your own figures and not other associates so I'm glad they heard us out with this issue.
