Pros

Working at Maesa has been a game-changer for my career. I feel like I've gotten a PHD in how to incubate & opeate a beauty brand at the highest level. I used to work at a big CPG company and felt like a cog in a very old, slow machine. At Maesa, I am literally part of building the machine everyday. While my 'business card' says customer development on it, what i love about Maesa is that you get true end-to-end exposure. I am not only learning & improving my sales skillset, but I am providing input on product development, brand, marketing, finance, and supply chain. My impact is real and truly felt. Culture at the company is great. You can tell that the management team genuinely cares about people & purpose. If you want to surround yourself with the best people in beauty, Maesa is the place.

Cons

This place moves fast. Very fast. This as very jarring for me at first, coming from an established heritage brand. If you can deal with a bit of organized chaos, you'll like it. If not, you'll hate it.

Pros

The company is having growth. That is about the extent of the positivity.

Cons

Incredibly toxic leadership. There is no respect for personal time. Office setup is ineffective. Meetings are chaotic. The leadership team is constantly being instructed that 24/7 work hours cannot be the expectation but, they fail to care. The attrition rate was alarming and they did a great job at improving for a short time. But, the new leadership team is ensuring that won’t stay the case.

The place where smiles go to die

Pros

Made a few good friends.

Cons

Let me set the scene for you: imagine entering a company that promises the world from the outside but delivers a whirlwind of misery once you step through the doors. The culture here is about as lively as a funeral procession on a rainy day. It's a place where smiles go to die, and laughter is a foreign concept. If you enjoy soul-crushing micromanagement and zero autonomy, congratulations, you've found your new home. Leadership? More like a comedy duo without the laughs. The CEO and CMO are the dynamic duo of incompetence, with their cluelessness and lack of vision. Career progression? Forget about it. Unless you consider stagnation and despair a form of progression, you'll be sorely disappointed. People leave here faster than a contestant on a reality TV show who realizes they've made a terrible mistake. And let's talk about the pay. If you enjoy scraping by on crumbs while the higher-ups line their pockets with gold, then by all means, sign right up. But if you have an ounce of self-respect, run far, far away. In summary, joining Maesa is akin to voluntarily subjecting yourself to a medieval torture chamber. There are better ways to spend your time, like getting a root canal. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this dumpster fire of a company. Your sanity will thank you.
