Pros

You get to strengthen your Computer Science skills and work with very knowledgeable team. Since it is a software company, developers get some extra benefits which other departments don't.

Cons

No clear vision of the features to be developed. Hard to introduce new technologies because management and senior developers are usually scared of change.
