Pros

fun, good platform, cute kids

Cons

Th hiring process is LONG and they're picky. Everything has to be just perfect. Communication within the office and consequently with the teachers is awful. I was told 4 different things by 4 different people, given classes and then had them taken away. If you do apply make sure they do their "tech test" before you say yes. After 28 classes I was told first my computer was too slow (so I spent $$$ to get a new one to their specs) and then was told my internet was too slow (no way to pay off the computer) and then sent emails as to how much they missed me and why wasn't i teaching.

Pros

Online ESL teachers know how hard it can be out there, the pay can be low, if the pay's good the company is a mess.. I've changed many companies and when I first started working at ME they were much smaller(growing so fast) and I was sceptic, didn't seem real, I didn't just find employers, I found friends, literally! (I know I sound like a commercial, but that's simply the truth). So normally my first thought was-they're faking it, but nope, I'm still here and the situation is just getting better. They are not all about getting from you what they need, work as a robot for their profit, the student as the customer is always right and can do whatever, no.. they'll do anything to protect their teachers, to help with everything, to encourage, advise, help you and give you a chance to grow with them and take more responsibilities with changing/adding positions (I started as a teacher, then became an interviewer), they'll really do just about anything to make you feel good working for them. I would most honestly recommend this company to every single teacher out there, and I'd sleep peacefully :)

Cons

The only thing was the platform and bugs, but it's fixed (they asked us what's wrong with our platform, what do you need us to change..and they've changed every single thing, imagine that)

Teaching w/Magic Ears

Pros

- pay (but even that comes at a price: carrot exchange). - Alphabet letter classes (because they videos do most of the work for you - easy classes).

Cons

- children mis-behave at the price of the teacher. - teachers must follow strict rules - parents & students do not. - burn-out quickly because of the bottom lines (teach with passion! always smile!). - don't expect there to be communication (you wait weeks on end for a response). - & my favorite - their platform is glitchy and have the nerve to ALWAYS blame it on the teachers.
