Engineering is not a recommendation, the whole envrionment is designed over complicated by developer. It uses postgresql server developed their own extension in c/c++, python and pascal, also the source code from postgresql is changed, what make is very difficult to manage these. WE will find hardcode variabled in the source code, it uses for deployment also their own python develop solution, the developer can direct deploy in the production environment via slack channel. Instead of kubernetes it uses nomad, but it want features from standard kubernetes, so it will implement a other third party product to get these functionality. The main tooling for monitoring is a slack channel. If you are working a few years in this company with using these products, it will use not look good to use these products in an enterprice entvironment. Mailgun Engineering don't follow industry standards, instead it is the to invent the wheel new, to build an empire. This is not the best way for a strategy in the engineering sektor. A strategy should be use as much as possible standard technology in the industry, so you can find any quick replacement for people. Hopefully it will change some day.
