Pros

The opportunity MakeSpace gives our staff is limitless. We have an amazingly talented group of people tackling some of the most complex problems - literally transforming a broken industry. Each function within the business has a myriad of interesting and challenging problems to work on. It's by far the least bureaucratic firm I've worked for, where people are given the free reign to come up with creative solutions from operations to engineering. People are definitely passionate about the company, in fact 1 in 4 employees are referrals. It's a fast growing (and very fast paced) startup, and things have the ability to change constantly. Those who have the ability to adapt and focus at the goal at hand will succeed. There is very little hand holding (I balk at any reviewer who cries about micro-management unless that now means being reminded to keep the office tidy). People are expected to work in the manner that’s most conducive for them to be effective. It’s a very flat organization where regardless of title, you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the business which I’ve found to be the most rewarding aspect of working here (along with the people). If you want an extremely transparent organization where you’ll feel well informed and also have a voice (yes – the cofounders and board members will make themselves available to us) this is the type of place for you.

Cons

The company is definitely growing rapidly and experiencing some growing pains as all companies do. With that though comes the opportunity to come up with more efficient ways of doing things and to step up and carve your own path. People who cannot prioritize, focus or effectively communicate (including opening your mouth / stepping outside of your comfort zone) may struggle until they realize this is a part of our core values. The company is very goal driven, and results oriented which can be off-putting for the non competitive type (not the case in all departments though). This is not a boring 9-5 if that's what you're looking for, and you'll need some discipline to turn off because there are just so many problems to solve you will never have a moment where work is done - I think that's a positive though?

Pros

The teams are all very friendly with some high caliber talents in different areas giving this company a boost and making every day more interesting and more challenging. The product is loved by our customers and the secret sauce has the team get ready for an incredible journey

Cons

All the pains of a growing startup. The team is large because we need so many people to meet our customers but it is still a young organization trying to define its culture

Pros

I've been with MakeSpace for 4 months now and it's been great! Management is understanding and I feel like my voice is heard a lot more here than other places. Also the pay is good.

Cons

Sometimes the work can get fast paced but at the same time I rather have this - makes the day go by faster.
