Pros

I worked for Management Solutions 1 year, so I think I have the right amount of time to give an honest opinion. - You have amazing and young team coworkers . That was the only reason why I stayed there and didn't quit before.

Cons

- Really bad leadership of your supervisor. In my first consulting project, my supervisor yell at myself (and my coworkers) because an employee from team decided to quit due to long working hours and so little retribution of his work. - You will work at least 12 hrs per day (commonly 14 and sometimes 18 or 21 hrs like happened to me). - It is very frowned upon leaving your work position when you accomplished your working day because: " all your team is staying and working extra hours, why not you?" - The internal courses and capacitations that they offer you are awful, just 2 good classes from 28 in an entire year. That was the big "plus" of why I selected this company and at the end, all the people inside it knew that the courses were really bad. - Moreover, you need to attend to the course and working at the same time, you don't have the possibility of being complete focused in your course or in your job, because you have the duty of doing both at the same time (literally with 2 computers with one meeting in each one of them). - The human resources department is as cold as a penguin, they don't bother if you have problems with the company and never ask about your actual situation. If generally known for them that you will have problems with the organization, but they are focused in recruitment, not in keep the talent.

Pros

A lot of exposure to the client and the project from day one. A lot of internal pre-selected courses to help with general consulting topics, with option to ask for more specialized ones, although it takes a lot of paperwork to get those, but it is posible. Opportunity to move to different countries through projects, although much depends on your manager and partner. Everyone gets an increase in salary and position once per year on the same day, so this eliminates internal competition among workmates.

Cons

Lack of 360 evaluations. All performance reviews are done by the managers and directos, who at times are not really that involved in the day-to-day project, which leads to not thorough evaluations. Some project assignation are done only with the purposes of selling the project, not taking into account the person's skills and knowledge.

Pros

- Great opportunities to grow and visibility to the clients; - Sometimes. the possibility to do projects abroad; - Pay above average of the Big 4, in some countries.

Cons

- Can get monotonous and repetitive projects, that don't challenge you and don't let you grow as a professional; - Your evaluations are highly skewed to the manager/partner you are assigned. I've seen people working more than others and having evaluations with lower scores than others, just because they have a more demanding manager/partner, or get one that is not competent (see next bullet point); - The top management (managers and partners) are not very capable, except for few exceptions. Most of them are in that position because the good ones left, and it can get frustrating how they are not capable to have a strategic vision for growth and do not know how to handle big projects and clients, as well as prioritize topics. Having said that, of course that are some exceptions, and you can find some managers/partners that are very capable and talented. It depends on how lucky you are.
