The people, the cuture and Senior Management are all strengths of Manpower as a whole.

Cons

The took the personal interaction & relationship development out of the temporary placement business in order to become a sales machine.

It is a decent place to work... just not if you're in IT

Pros

Flexible scheduling, work from home opportunities, good people to work with.

Cons

Compensation is terrible in terms of salary. IT is being outsourced to India so everyone remaining has about double the workload to do. If you can perform above the bar it is not rewarded. Also there is a "Wait and see" policy when it comes to moving from a contractor to employee, any type of pay increase, or a reclassification of your job.

Pros

Hard for me to find many anymore. There are still some good people there and the work was challenging and interesting. The business objective of putting people to work is one that I respected.

Cons

Miserable environment. Leadership shows absolutely no empathy for employees. Everyone seems to be just covering their own butt and trying to make it through the next round of layoffs. No one seems to have a back bone and willing to stand up for what is right. Decisions are being made solely based on cost savings without any clue how they will actually operate after the cuts are made. It sounds like a complete train wreck - not surprised every time I hear of more cuts because they clearly are just trying to hit a number - not coming up with a real plan of how to operate more efficiently. I feel for the customers - they can not possibly be getting decent service given how the staff has been cut.
