Pros

Tons of materials and tools to be successful. Very good starting wage as a temporary hire. Enjoy a small office atmosphere.

Cons

My position was labeled Administrative Assistant. I was hired with minimal experience as a recruiter right as a new system was being implemented. Only a few of the systems were available to me as I waited more than three weeks to receive several authorizations to sign in and be able to utilize the system to be able to do my job. Without access, I could not help assign new employees as it does not allow you to do it if another recruiter started the process. This caused a lot of problems for me. Even though I tried to reach out to management, no one was available to really help me. I was told not to reach out to the Salesman as he had to do his sales job. If you brought something up, they shut you down and acted like you were “causing problems” when all I needed was direction, to get all the tools I needed to be a recruiter like the others. Although given many materials, tools & meetings to learn from, no time was given to learn as you are in an office by yourself. Walk-ins, many incoming calls, scheduled appointments, with no time to learn. I couldn’t stop doing my job to learn, because no one was there to take care of the hired and new hires. I was hired as a temporary and was told that was how everyone was hired. Little did I know, once they hired another person, I found out they were hired direct about four weeks later. I understood my time was almost up, as things I should be learning along with the new person, was being taken away from me. A month before taking this job, I passed it up because I didn’t have a good feeling about it. I should have known better, but I accepted the challenge and actually enjoyed recruiting. They are spread too thin. It is still a one person job to this day. The management #1 & #2 over us are exactly what you DO NOT WANT TO WORK FOR. If you don’t ask questions or bring up problems within the job, you will work out just fine. Oh, the best part of all, I was “let go” by the salesman! I meant so little that #1 was on speaker phone telling me that day, was my last day. Such an unprofessional and cowardly group. They wouldn’t even give me a good number to speak to someone about what was going on at this office! I was professional and was told not to talk. Another question I had…how are 2 recruiters supposed to get 25 people each, in a week, when there are only 3 places to place them? Two of those places only had one position each to fill. The other paid incredibly low and there were only 10 spots to fill at that time. Only 12 could be placed for the whole entire area! In the two months I was there, there was about 8-9 companies to send to when I started. There were 3 when I left. Only 2 new placements happened and that was 2 single positions. We had companies calling in, to have the salesperson call them, needing positions filled. Nothing ever showed up to place employees. #2 was also unprofessional. She was supposed to be a so called Trainer. I didn’t learn anything from her except how to place people who walk in on a different day so I was able to work on my assigned learning classes. Just as I was going to do that, people started walking in, the phone was ringing with people in seats for interviews, and instead I decided to do what I thought was best and take care of our associates and possible new hires. The help seemed welcomed by #2 and when I was asked if I finished my learning classes there was nothing but disappointment. I have had some doozies to work for in my time, but this was an embarrassment and absolutely wish I didn’t have to place this on my resume. So much more I could share, but I believe I covered enough.
