Steve Maritz' philosophy of "Work Hard, Have Fun, Get the Job Done" is a great concept, but not all managers embrace this belief. Co-workers are AMAZING!!!

Cons

VERY low pay and constant lay-offs. While not applicable to all managers, mine is an extreme micro-manager. She doesn't really DO anything. Instead, she stands over her employees to watch their every move; takes credit for their work; does not allow the flexibility allowed in other areas of the company (ie: working from home); schedules unnecessary meetings and doesn't have a true understanding of what it takes to complete our jobs.

Most co-workers were great to work with on various projects.

Cons

Too many to list. Management style is outdated. Good ol' boys network. Continue to repackage same programs from years past. Very slow to change.

Pros

It seems to be a place many people go to and never leave. At one time it was THE place to work.

Cons

For a loyalty and motivation company, Maritz inspires neither; the shoemaker's children have no shoes, so to speak. An annual BBQ and ice cream sandwich day are nice gestures, but they don't make up for well-below market salaries or even recognition for a job well done. Sales rules the show and anyone who isn't in sales is an afterthought.
