There is a good working environment and management are always easily approachable, they have competitive rates of pay and staff discounts.

Cons

annoying customers to deal with can be off putting however the good customers out weigh the bad. The job is tiring as you are on your feet all day.

Pros

Marks and Spencer has proved to be an interesting place to work over the five years I have been part of the company. Most of the managers I have met have been not only competent, but an interesting bunch to work with.

Cons

The stress and pace of the job can get quite extreme at times, however this can be said of all retail careers.

Respectable organization, feels proud to work for it. Excellent staff discount, good learning turf.

Cons

Poor manager, they are not very good as most of them have been promoted on the basis of seniority and hence lack sharpness except the managesr who came through the grad scheme and the store manager himself/herself. Not very good chances of growth Worst HR people as well as policies. entire HR system is very slow.
