      Pros

      Opportunity to move around HQ if you are proactive; I moved from Finance to Operations. HQ facility is great - has daycare, nice cafeteria, gym, post office, pilates. Management and senior leaders have been in place a long time.

      Cons

      Because many of the senior leadership team has been at Marriott for 20+ years, they may discount your pre-Marriott work. Difficult to get into Operations if you have not worked in a hotel before. They do not seem to value MBA's, they value your work while at Marriott.

      Perfect company for the high-energy, high-stress individual.

      Pros

      Interesting work with many opportunities if you are willing to work hard. Decent salary and benefits. Outstanding day care center at Corporate HQ. Deep hotel discounts ($29 to $69 per night) for leisure/pleasure travel. Matching 401K and stock options.

      Cons

      Highly competitive and stressful environment. Corporate jobs are 10- to 12-hour workdays. Prima donnas everywhere in senior management; tons of in-fighting and back-stabbing. Projects languish forever b/c no one wants to make a decision.

      Pros

      Co-workers were a blast to work with. Managers were very reasonable with work/life balance, vacations, etc. Very laid back environment.

      Cons

      Increased workload due to executives wanting to outsource most IT groups. Some really good workers were driven out of the company as a result.
