Pros

Open office atmosphere and amazing brands makes Mars a unique and compelling place to work. The travel opportunities abroad and throughout the US network allow an associate to be exposed to different ways of making and selling chocolate.

Cons

The acquisition of Wrigley has put a lot of short term pressures on Mars to cut costs and return a certain bottomline at all costs. This would often mean senseless hiring freezes and travel bans when all logic and economic conditions in the marketplace would tell you otherwise. The company is extremely short term focused.

Pros

In the beginning the store was okay, more than tolerable based on previous retail jobs. They used to start at 11 dollars an hour and the coworkers are pretty decent. They also used to have set schedules but I believe that has changed.

Cons

There is no respect between managers and associates. Since I have worked there I know that the pay has gone down, set schedules are a thing of the past and even communication between management is poor. Turn over is pretty high and for a store in times square where being busy is a way of life, communication and employee morale should drastically be improved
