Pros

Whole range of very nice challenging & innovative projects which allow you to prove yourself in that kind of role (Project fields like: food process, machinery, infrastructure, sustainability etc. - they allow you to lead quite big budget projects vs your experience - huge plus for trusting people and allowing them to gain the experience on the real battlefield. Good atmosphere at work. No barriers at work - you can easily reach the management. Private-owned company - No shareholders looking over your shoulder to mess with the solutions (etc.) applied by project team. If you have a big family: insurance, healthcare package & some other social bonuses are a big plus.

Cons

Very Low compensation vs responsibility on that position. Low compenstation comparing to competitor companies in the FMCG & other businesses. Flexible working time - except some days when you can sleep a bit longer it means that you burn yourself out to deliver the project and get nothing back (no paid overtime -> In the end you have huge responsibility, lots of stress and your salary is lower than the one machine operator gets doing few overtime shifts. Work/life balance. Lack of resources - recruitment processes last extremely long which means that you always lack some specialists in the project and have to do the job yourself...

Yours is clearly not the experience we aim to offer our Associates, and we're incredibly sorry to hear that during your time at Mars you did not receive the right level of support. We deeply care for our Associates' wellbeing and development, and are dedicated to always improving, so we would really appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you. Please reach out to the Mars Ombudsmen team at ombudsman@effem.com. They are an independent, confidential, informal and neutral resource available to all Associates.
