Pros

It is a job if you need one and don't have one.

Cons

At my time of employment, the store manager was new to the position and didn't have a clue as to how to run a store. This person constantly complained about employees talking behind their back in company meetings... I never once heard a negative word said about the person. Don't ever make plans because you will not have many days off. If you are scheduled to work 3 days a week expect to work 6 days a week. The Marshall's I worked in was severely understaffed. I could not work in my own department for having to work in some other department because there were not enough employees. I was assigned my own department, The management would send me to other departments and keep me there through out my shift and then they would proceed to complain about my department not being done. As an employee you are always wrong even if you are doing exactly as you are told.

Pros

-Very flexible hours -Relaxed atmosphere -Relaxed dress code -Able to pick your own schedule after you've worked there a few months due to high turnover; you'll gain seniority quickly

Cons

-Store management and supervisors often had conflict due to not being on the same page -Slightly disorganized due to constantly changing policies that part-time employees often miss out on being updated on -More senior employees did not feel valued therefore the company lost some valuable full time associates
