Bad culture, good benefits

Pros

Decent salary and benefits, especially early-career. Unlimited PTO is nice if and only if you have the right manager.

Cons

Terrible culture. Expect 6+ hours of meetings daily, all with 30+ people- no work gets done. Teams that directly work together have long, fully non-intersecting management chains. Expect a lot of "We do this because it's always been done that way"- even down to using in-house text editors from the IBM days. Every minor decision takes weeks of discussion and internal politics.

Pros

There are some cool benefits in my site, like a nice cafeteria, gym and benefits like legal insurance. The healthcare is OK, one of my doctors is not in network but she is in network with another large insurer.

Cons

I worked for a very successful company that was acquired by Marvell. While my original company had generous compensation at Marvell it just went downhill. May be this or something else is causing key people to leave.
