Pros

The best things about working for Mary Kay are that I get to meet and work with so many amazing women every day, I get discounts on excellent skin care products and makeup, and I get to earn extra money just by talking to people!

Cons

At first it's difficult to find a comfortable way to get consultations. I'm not a natural salesperson, even though I love people, so I'm always a little nervous when I start talking to someone new.

Pros

Great product Second income opportunity You define your role Great tax benefits Focus on Family, God, and Self Company handles the sales tax Will purchase

Cons

Quotas to keep discount privileges High shipping costs All the supplies needed to sell the product cost extra Directors are great at talking you into buying more and dangling the carrot Strong use of gifts or prizes to manipulate you into reaching targets You can't be shy to do this job, it requires a lot of personal selling

Pros

An outstanding Corporate Company that puts is sales force and customers as top priority. I have been with Mary Kay for over 20 years and have worked the business very part time to eventually full time. You will grow personally and you will gain great life and business experience. The products are highly researched and fair priced. The Mary Kay Ash Foundation continues to make a difference in many areas in addition to Breast Cancer Research and Prevention of Domestic Violence. And 50% profit for a starter??? Why not! A great opportunity you can run with at your pace.

Cons

You actually have to book appointments and put some effort in :) The payoffs are many, but for those who have no discipline or zero interest in developing any, or who enjoy living in the negative moment, this company is probably not for you. But luckily at 40 years strong in 35 plus countries and debt free...it will thrive just fine with or without you :)
