Good coworkers, poor management and ownership

Pros

The coworkers were a joy to get to know, they're the reason I stayed as long as I did. The discounts were also nice, paying the cost of items rather than retail price.

Cons

The management and ownership combination was poor at best. Ideas were not thought through before being mandated to be put into action. Management had favorites and would compensate them accordingly, neglecting the hard workers most of the time. I was there for a few years and know I was an excellent employee, but I received no wage increase offer until I put in my notice. The wage I was at before putting in my notice was below what my normal position was worth and far below what I was worth with my knowledge and experience, not to mention the additional tasks that were forced on me. I saw excellent employees leave the company based on lack of a pay increase or lack of management's willingness to negotiate. Those same positions took many tries to fill, some have not been filled and have been rotating people in and out. Had management realized employees' worth and compensated fairly, Mason Brothers would have saved a lot of money in the long run by not having to hire, rehire, train, and retrain people. Some positions I know have been split because the amount of work being done by the employee who left was too much for their replacement to handle, and so Mason Brothers has spent even more money having to hire an additional employee when they could have compensated the original employee fairly.
