Pros

- Healthcare allowance. If you don't use it (covered by spouse etc), you can put the funds into a 401k. Most tech companies give healthcare benefits as a use-it-or-lose-it. - Other "tech office" benefits: gaming center, stocked kitchen, WFH 2x per week (before COVID, 100% WFH during pandemic) - "Personal training" time to learn and develop new skills outside of your work every week - Fitness clubs, can use 1 paid hour of time per week to participate in group activities of the club of your choice - Engineering specific pro: lots of growth opportunity. We are adopting a new stack for re-building our products, which is a dream for any engineer to help make those choices and build something brand new. - Supportive management. They recently created a new Engineering Manager role for each Agile team, basically a manager who is also a technical mentor and contributor. - Compassionate and business-savvy higher-ups (VP level and above. The company recently had to do layoffs to survive the impact of COVID. These were the first layoffs the company ever had to do and I believe them when they say it was the hardest part of their careers so far. We lost many good people. HR handled it the best way they could given that everyone is remote- I empathize that it is hard to not be able to say goodbye directly. But many people reached out using personal email, so that was always an option. It doesn't speak poorly to HR that layoffs were remote and contact was cut off. They have to consider worst case scenarios of Slack access for former employees, even though I don't believe any of those let go would have done anything bad. HR is doing HR's job.

Cons

- Older tech stack can be cumbersome, but plans are in the works to re-build the product from the ground up with a newer stack.

Pros

The people here and culture are really great, your team is always a helpful resource as you go about your day to day. Everyone is happy to work and they really stress having a good work/life balance.

Cons

HR and Management talk a big game when it comes to employee incentives, but they fail to follow-thru with these incentives on a consistent basis. Lots of meetings during the day to try and improve the company's internal processes but no actual resolutions are adopted by the upper management. Management is not transparent with the employees on company-wide decisions. Employee efforts are very disconnected from one-another which leads to a lot of time spent in fixing problems down the road. Very poor transparency regarding Covid-19 in regards to employment.

Pros

Very open and fun working environment in office. My Co-workers we very willing to teach and mentor me on things i didn't know. They go out of their way to make employees feel a part of the culture and work pretty diligently to ensure culture fit before you're hired.

Cons

They pretend to be very open about managements decisions and where the company is headed with things, but have very little actual follow through. They ran challenges between employees but never actually awarded anything or announced any winners. HR department and leadership needs a very thorough overhaul.
