Pros

MathWorks is a good company that pays fairly and has lots of good benefits. It's very successful, and can be a fun place.

Cons

Rather than help poor performers improve, they just fire people ruthlessly. You really have to drink the Koolaid. It's hard to get promoted. All of this is especially true in the Doc Group. There are some good managers, but most are fresh out of a remake of "Mean Girls." You can learn to be a good writer here, but if you want to have fulfilling tech writing work, go elsewhere.

Pros

Flexibility of hours, pay is decent, bonus profit sharing is great, great range of teams so you can find a spot in a cool team that excites you

Cons

Innovation scares many people, trying new things is not easy, seriously need Google 20℅-like scheme, aging infrastructure causes more issues than solve
