Transparency - there is no transparency with this company. You never know if what leadership is telling you is the truth or some story they are selling you. Open communication goes a long way with your employees and this simply doesn't exist at Matlen Silver.
Client base - they have a handful of large enterprise clients, but not enough clients to balance the ups and downs in this industry. They rely so heavily on a few accounts that if one client has cuts or a hiring freeze, it significantly impacts the business. They closed the Chicago office in part due to this (as well as poor leadership).
Turnover - they really struggle to retain talent. Most people work there for about a year to gain industry experience and then move on to opportunities that pay more or have better growth potential.
