Pros

you're left alone to do as you please with actual mechanic work like suspension or engine work

Cons

not a single wheel gets tourqed to factory specifications, in fact they do not allow torque wrenches. the final torque for every vehicle is 80 ftlb which on some vehicles is overtightened and on others not tight enough. you are trusted to know what you're doing in an engine but not to guide a car out of the bay. you are pressured to not take a lunch on busy days while working open to close. you are limited to 2 hand signals when guiding a car in (a thumbs up and open hand) as opposed to left, right, forward, back because "people don't pay attention to hand signals". if you use cordless impacts, you can't use them to put wheels on, you must use an air powered impact. the pay is abysmal for what you are expected to do,
