Pros

Technologically advanced. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can progress rapidly at MaxLinear.

Cons

1. Long hours 2. Unreasonable word load 3. Meager Pay Management likes to say employees are valued individuals, but the reality is much different. 8 hours of hard work is not enough - try 11 or 12 minimum (including weekends). But hey, if you need a H1 visa, they'll hire you. Then again, if they can cut your pay or eliminate your position altogether, they will. Often asks its employees to choose between life and work. Lack of company direction. Benefits of working for a small company is that it reacts quickly to the market. Downside is that it often lacks a plan.

Pros

Apart from being allowed to work from home. Nothing else.

Cons

Firstly, I have no idea how did the ratings shoot up from 2.+% to the current 4.1%. Did someone from the marketing department pay people to write the good reviews? To potential employees reading this. Please. AVOID. Join them at your own risk. 1. Office politics: though this is everywhere in the working society, but the politics here is beyond one could imagine. 2. No work life balance AT ALL. Please imagine your whole team having to work during the weekends. (not at your own discretion, but for fear of not being able to please your superior because everyone else is also online at work) I suppose I don’t need to explain further. Just imagine burning your weekends and working through the night and yet your superior still feels what you did is not enough. 3. Toxic environment: yes, there are nicer colleagues around, just as other work places. But everyone has to end up stepping on someone just for survival. What makes it worse is YOUR SUPERIOR is the one stirring. And to make matters worse, the superior hurl verbal abuses which became insults. And we all have to bear with whatever comes on our way. (We’re all holding on for the pay check) 4. Salary: salary range is still within comfort level I guess. But the salary dispersement is always not fixed. We sometimes have to wait till early next month when we finally get our pay checks. What happens if we have pre-arranged bills to pay for? You picture the consequences. 5. HR: having this much discontent on the company, we should approach human resources right? WRONG. The hr department is technically non existent. Well, they are there, with the titles. But should you need any help from them, be prepared to have a long long wait, or even better, to have your email thrashed and forgotten.

Horrible culture

Pros

Good if you want an H1-B visa. They seem to prefer foreign employees who have lower salary requirements.

Cons

Horrible culture, too many employees who cannot speak English (majority are foreign employees), long work hours. No work/life balance, lack of direction, horrible management. Top management does not encourage their employees to grow. If you do something positive, they only tell you how you didn't do good enough.
