      Overworked and Underpaid

      Pros

      I have been working at Maximus for 2.5 years and I have gained a lot of critical experience in the field of Social Services.

      Cons

      We are paid far less than Case Managers that are not contracted by the County. Management does not understand what it takes to manage a caseload because most of them were never Case Managers. Case Management goals are unrealistic and unattainable. Turnover rate is extremely high.

      Not a good place if you are a professional

      Pros

      You learn a lot because of the steep learning curve. You also learn survival skills. Allows for some flexibility

      Cons

      No recognition of the work, crazy hours (nights, weekends). The environment is very competitive and aggressive. They hire a lot of college kinds who are overly motivated and think they know everything. A lot of backstabbing and politics. There are no processes, or the management is not aware of them. No opportunity for professional growth.

      Pros

      International in scope. Large government program management company. Good Culturre with multiple governmental and state projects, each are different.

      Cons

      Not a lot of continuity between best practices from one project to another. In the specific project,, there could have been more networking with other departments in an effort to lesson the blame game and instill a sense of team work. Most obvious con, I am no longer employed there. I enjoyed my job greatly.
