Pros

Reasonable management, friendly atmosphere, opportunities in litigation and patent prosecution for IP professionals, good pay, local Palo Alto office has good commuting connections and plenty of parking, flexible work hours.

Cons

Mayer Brown, like many law firms, went through a major downturn in 2009, with some 10-15 percent of their employees being laid off. They were nice about it though.

Pros

A very human perspective on for a high-caliber group of partners.

Cons

They thought they the sky was the limit with a bonanza of mergers. . . so the financial "crisis" seems to have been worse for Mayer Brown than even other big law firms.
