Good Place with Old Ways

Pros

Mostly everyone is very collegial. Attorneys are nice and appreciative. HR teams are very collaborative and friendly. The benefits are decent. My manager specifically was absolutely fantastic (supportive, responsive, knowledgeable, transparent).

Cons

Some things can be very outdated (like tracking PTO on a spreadsheet). There's a lot of red tape when trying to improve processes. HRIS makes it difficult to better the systems we use. Some benefits could be better (like wellness or work from home reimbursements).

Typical Big Law

Recommend

Pros

- Competent, efficient ambiance and setting. - Base compensation decent for paralegal staff. - Decent PTO/flex benefits.

Cons

- Like a lot of big law, technologically behind by 20 years. Lots of paper. - Culture felt stuffy even by big law standards. - Bonus and annual pay raises minuscule and make performance reviews irrelevant unless you want to be a career paralegal. - Capricious with time entry even for fee-based contract work.
