The worst place ever.

Pros

The pay and benefits are great for everyone. The company offers tuition reimbursement and there are free tickets to sporting events in the area. You can also buy their products at a discount.

Cons

The company respects no one. You are constantly scrutinized until you can't take it anymore. Many people who are competent are fired when someone does not like them.

Pros

The benefits are AMAZING. Great place to work. I left to go for advancement somewhere else. Also they are quick to get rid of the people that don’t perform.

Cons

They pretty much only want people with bachelors degrees for the warehouse jobs and you gotta have a big name degree to be a manager. Not much room for advancement, actually none at all since they bring all management in from the outside.

Pros

This is a very solidly performing company-- not just for its industry, but compared to ANY industry. You'll take a lot of pride in working for a company that treats its customers like customers should be treated, like you wish you were treated by all businesses.

Cons

Not an environment for everyone. You must be very detail oriented because this company gets the big things right. Although the company will deny it during interviews, the management track is up or out, there are very, very few lifers at McMaster Carr, or for that matter management personnel over the age of 35. (no different than most top tier consulting firms).
