Great Benefits & Coworkers, little growth otherwise

Pros

You will be well compensated, well above the industry average for the work you do. CPS and DPS along with other benefits like tuition reimbursement can be life changing. You will also work with genuinely interesting people who will know how to keep the long drawn out days of often monotonous work engaging.

Cons

Metrics and goal posts move often and little support is given if you are struggling by middle management because they themselves are given too many tasks to manage outside of their direct reports. It's easy to go on autopilot and not really know or understand the work you are doing. Depts are realigned often and they run into the same hurdles over and over again, despite have rich retrospectives available to read and help anticipate and resolve potential issues. Success metrics feel arbitrary on what percentage is considered "successful." The constant move up towards near perfection means workers who comfortably met or even exceeded expectations year over year could suddenly wind up "at risk" and fighting to meet expectations.

Pros

Compenstation. There is nothing else.

Cons

I strongly encourage you to avoid working for this company—especially if you have prior experience in strategy, banking, consulting, or similar fields. While the compensation may seem appealing, the work environment is extremely poor. You have little to no control over the roles you are rotated into, and much of the work is not transferable to other careers. For example, you may spend your days reviewing customer service chat logs, grading emails, working on a book index, or physically running a warehouse. Work life balance exists at the supervisor level, but it dissipates quickly at Manager or above. You will be working 11-12 hours a day, but you won’t be able to do so openly at the facility due to optics. The culture feels incredibly performative. I quit in 2023, and it was the best decision I made - the worst decision I made was joining. The leadership within SFS is particularly concerning—they often come across as disconnected and lack genuine empathy. They are quick to turn their backs on employees, and you will likely have no clear understanding of where you stand, even if you perform exceptionally well.
