Worst CRO you could work for

Pros

Absolutely none. It's a waste of a company with a failing reputation.

Cons

This CRO's choices never cease to amaze me. They're letting people go left and right during the COVID-19 crisis in the name of "saving money" while still hiring new employees every week. Maybe because they wasted millions of dollars on a building that looks like it was designed by a toddler? The CEO is a joke that's never around and spends all of his time in Florida while underpaying employees. HR is a waste of a department full of incompetent and disrespectful employees. This place is hands down the worst CRO you could ever work for. Please save yourself the trouble and go work for any other CRO (who, by the way, are still able to hire and maintain employees during this crisis because they know how to manage money).

We are very sorry to hear you feel negatively about the organization. In this time of COVID-19, Medpace, like a lot of businesses, has had to make some very difficult decisions. We are navigating as best as we can and assure you we are taking this very seriously. Although we had maintained our full workforce with full pay for the initial weeks of Ohio’s lockdown order, despite the fact that many of our positions cannot be performed if our campus is not open, unfortunately this is not a sustainable long-term option. It was a very difficult decision to release some of our on-campus staff, and we hope that the severance packages offered to them will help in part to sustain during a difficult economic time for everyone. We certainly understand the frustration and anxiety everyone feels in this difficult time and we are confident that by working together we will get through this. Stay safe!

Pros

Free lunch and gym, training program, pretty facility

Cons

Low-balled pay scale. The training program is a joke. I have seen so many CRAs fired for the most ridiculous reasons. One lady had an emergency where her son was in a coma and was't sure if he was going to live. They FIRED her the day after she came back and said "you aren't a good fit"? She was a great CRA! Also, middle-school mentality. If you are not in the right clique-good luck. The interns watch and report everything, and report it! It's awful...just awful. :(

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that you feel there is negativity in the organization. Medpace provides initial and ongoing training for our CRAs through our PACE (Professionals Achieving CRA Excellence) program. This is highly valued in our organization due to the collaboration it provides between our CRAs and management. This program is rigorous and provides training needed for any CRAs that actively work at our sites. Not only do we feel it’s extremely successful, but we have been recognized with multiple awards that show the quality of our work. We acknowledge, however, that not all candidates successfully complete the program. We are also proud of the collaborative and flexible culture that we promote. We are very aware that Medpace is going through a period of high growth within the organization. Our leadership has made a great effort to acknowledge the efforts of valued employees during a busy season. However, by allowing our employees to utilize “flex time”, we still give them the ability to have a flexible schedule that encourages a well-balanced work/home life. We take offense to the accusation that we would promote anything other than this type of culture. We work hard to ensure we are place that attracts employees not just for the short term, but are a place that our associates can grow in their career. It is apparent that Medpace was not the right place for you, but we appreciate your review.

Pros

Nothing. Coming to Medpace was a horrible mistake!

Cons

Everything! Horrible management. Management positions are based solely off of time at Medpace, not knowledge, skills, etc. You get zero feedback from management and are expected to read their minds of what is expected. I sat at my desk for my first 3 months and had zero interaction with my manager. Benefits suck. I pay $700 a month for a family plan. 401K match comes once a year, not with each paycheck. I assume this is because turnover is so high. Infrastructure is incredibility outdated. Because of the high turnover and horrible knowledge transfer, no one knows how user management, off the shelf applications, etc work. New employees are handed a dumpster fire and expected to figure it out. No team environment. You sit in your cubicle and try to act busy. You don't interact with team members, there is no collaboration, or scene of togetherness. Everyone is looking to point the finger at someone else, and offload duties to others.

The quarterly staff meetings we hold allow our employees to hear direct communication from our President, and we have training for all managers regarding cross-departmental communication, and communication with their teams. We appreciate your review, and should you have specific concerns, please reach out to your HR Rep to discuss more in detail.
