Pros

Amenities like a gym, Element Eatery, some people you work with are generally nice, and company events

Cons

Flexibility: While the company claims to offer flexibility, this is misleading. During the first six months, employees must work full-time in person. After that, you get one rotating WFH day per week, which is "use or lose." If it falls on a holiday, you lose the day. Additionally, you only get two extra "use or lose" WFH days per quarter. True flexibility is lacking. For instance, if your car breaks down and you're out of work-from-home days or within the six-month period, you're forced to use vacation time. In the event of severe weather or if you're sick but still able to work remotely, you'll also need to use your sick or vacation days. Once you've exhausted these, you're required to take unpaid leave. While you could take public transportation like an Uber or bus, if you live far from the office, it's a major inconvenience and financial burden, as the company doesn’t reimburse these costs. The company's "flex policy," which allows for flexing up to four hours a week, is similarly restrictive. There are strict rules on when you can start and end work, so in practice, it's not as flexible as it sounds. For example, if you miss a day due to a flight delay returning from vacation, you can't make up the time. Overall, the company treats full-time employees more like part-timers. Management: The company operates with a top-down management style, where nearly every decision requires CEO approval. This results in micromanagement, inefficient processes, and outdated systems that make daily tasks more difficult. While there may be room for innovation, management typically insists on sticking to last year’s methods, leaving little room for creativity or collaboration. In my experience, management doesn’t encourage alternative approaches or innovation. Additionally, some comments from the CEO during staff meetings have felt degrading, creating a poor tone at the top. Unrealistic Demands: The company claims to hold employees to high standards, which is fine in theory, but they don’t provide a supportive environment for meeting those expectations. Tasks are often assigned without clear explanations or realistic deadlines. Combined with micromanagement and the lack of flexibility, this makes the demands unreasonable. If you're forced to take personal time off, you're left with even less time to complete your work. Additionally, management often provides vague guidance, labeling it a "learning experience," but without acknowledging different ways to approach tasks. This leads to hours spent trying to meet unclear or arbitrary expectations. While it may depend on the team, this seems to be a cultural issue within the company. Compensation: After I joined and spoke with my peers, I found that I was severely underpaid for my position by around 10% for comparable position. There are other jobs that will offer more
