Pros

The gym. Casual work attire. Coke Freestyle machine.

Cons

This place is horrible. I started approximately 2 years ago as an intern, and was promised so many things. I am still waiting on those promises to this day. The hiring process is very inconsistent. I was hired as an intern due to lack of "clinical experience," even though I worked at both a hospital and in a research lab. Yet, others were hired on as CRAs from the beginning and had lower qualifications than I did since these qualifications are always changing. The pay is EXTREMELY low. The company will find any which way to withhold paying you. Yet, has a surplus of money to improve the facilities and build a brand new luxury hotel. The CEO is very discouraging. In the last quarterly staff meeting, he mocked genuine questions from his own employees. It made me even less motivated to work for such a person. He was very unprofessional. The company will hold bonuses for well deserved CRAs because of ONE delinquent SOP training. This is after a year of hard work and dedication towards the company. The free lunch is not all its hyped up to be. I still bring my own food to work every day. The cafeteria also cut out some of the favorite menu items to save money. I don't know on what since the company clearly has enough. The noncompete is used as a scare tactic. The environment is very negative and demeaning. Everyone is micromanaged and are expected to be working at all times, but over half of the CRAs here have no work to do since the company hired so many people without enough work to hand out. Those who have been caught on their phone have been fired, even though there is no work to do. Overall, this place is full of lies and empty promises. Avoid at all costs. Many experienced people are leaving because of the reasons mentioned above.

Thank you for your feedback. Medpace takes pride in creating an environment that helps teams thrive and do their best work while working in a collaborative environment. We regularly review our hiring practices to ensure consistency and equity of our team members, as well as consistency in our processes. With a complimentary fitness center, complimentary cafeteria, and casual work environment, we strive to provide an environment that allows our employees to feel valued and appreciated for their hard work. We are always looking to improve and I encourage you to reach out to your HR representative to provide any suggestions or ideas you may have to improve communication and training in your department. We also encourage you to have an honest conversation with your manager about any concerns you may have in regards to workload.

Pros

Free food provided for lunch everyday. I believe intentions were good in the beginning but greed and the true hollowness of the CEO and his minions took over.

Cons

Too many to convey here...just read some of the other reviews and you'll get the picture. All are true. And if you are one of the favored ones, it's just a matter of time before the ax will fall in some sort of way. A week, a month, a year, or after several years. For the minority individuals that come in there to interview for the clinical trials, the white personnel and doctors regard you with disgust. They need the trials to be racially balanced, and advertise for your participation, but they don't see you as a human being, but just a poor, black, ignorant person. This organization is headed by a racist bunch of white elitist where their only motive is money. They do nothing for the surrounding community unless it's to benefit their bottom line. I was at one of the "state of the company" meetings where an employee suggested we sponsor a back to school campaign for the students at JP Parker school, which is right across the street from MP. He said no, if you want to donate your time and money fine but this organization won't be involved.

Pros

Drinking events once a month, hire new grads

Cons

Very toxic upper management with high turnover rate. Managers do not care about your professional development or anything going on in your personal life, you are just a number to them that can easily be replaced. They swear by their PACE training program that does nothing but stress you out and does very little to prepare you for what you will actually experience in the real world. If you perform somewhat poorly on even one of the mock visits, forget even having a chance to explain yourself, you are out the door. This place is a revolving door simply because upper management gives no regard for their employees. They offer significantly lower than industry standard starting salaries and justify that by hiring new grads and using them as cheap labor. They claim you'll get a significant raise after a year but it takes much longer than that and you'll still be making less than what you would be making at another CRO. I advise any new grad to stay away from Medpace, but if you are absolutely desperate for a job, take it for training purposes but field offers from other CRO's while you are there. Now this post may get a response that says "we understand that the high standards to which we ask our employees to excel at are not for everyone" or "it is apparent Medpace is not the best fit for you" or some other HR bs but there is a reason there are so many negative posts about this company and that is because Medpace has no idea how to treat its people.

While we disagree with much of your review you are correct on a couple of points -- we have very high standards and it is obvious that Medpace is not the best fit for you! We don’t shy away from the fact that the PACE program provides rigorous training and that we are expecting the best of the best. We realize that sometime people join and then find that this is not the program for them. It doesn’t happen often but when it does often that’s the best outcome for Medpace and the candidate. Those that complete the program and continue to advance here are rewarded with career advancement and commiserate compensation recognition including our highly valued CRA equity program. We appreciate the opportunity to provide new graduates with meaningful and challenging work as well as the opportunity to get to know their colleagues in social settings and on-campus events. We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavor.
