Pros

Been working there for twelve years. Great technologies and great mission statements.

Cons

Last 4-5 years the new GM with a very un capable senior leadership have tanked the Business Unit culture and turned that into the worst place you would ever want to work in . Zero accountability , zero appreciation to the employees , no ailment and ego fights between all functional leaders, and finger pointing to the execution level at any given time. As a mid senior leader I couldn’t stand it and no surprise the business performance have followed the poor culture and narrowed mindset. They do pay well but it just doesn’t worth it. Stay a way !

Pros

-There really isn't a pro besides having them Medtronic on your Resume besides the Remote capabilities. -Severance was ok -The people were nice I guess.

Cons

-Lowest on the pay scale in the specific industry I was in. -No Clear Direction -Upper Management really did not support the team when needed. -Poor Financial Management lead to this huge Layoff going on currently. -The training department was absolutely horrible regarding making sure the sales team was ready to sell the products. It's literally fast tracked to where there are no role plays, they go over the product once, and move on. Someone that has been in the medical industry for years could come in and still not understand the products and how they work. - The tech support department was abysmal, where a customer would call in a problem with their capital equipment, only to be either hung up on, or sit on hold for hours to be hung up on, which would often lead the reps to try and figure out a solution they were not capable of finding out. -They went through a re-org about a year ago, and are running into the same problems they did before the re-org. - I know this goes without saying, but I was told twice that they wanted to promote me into a different position, only to be sideswiped and let go, because my position was eliminated due to a "cost structure initiative".

Pros

polite folks but experiences depends on team

Cons

First team, told me they had hundreds of projects and work for me. That they were overflowing with work. At the time I worked in a place that was stable and made me happy. I did not want to give that up. Medtronic made fancy stories of how valuable I would be and how they would need someone like me to do so much for them. So I took a risk and found out on my first week. The team does NOT have alot of projects. They had maybe 2 or 3 but they all had devs working on them already. So I did very minor work and worked on a project that I definately was not qualified for. Then budge was cut really badly and of course I was let go since I am the new guy. So I applied for jobs and I had 2 great offers I was ready to go to. Another team at Medtronic wanted to add me and told me they got tons of features and work to keep up with and are behind. I was hesitant but they were transparent and the team was friendly and supportive so I gave up on offers and join this team. My mistake. Some upper level Director or who ever decides to cut budget on all teams. No warning, no support for people to go to other teams or time to find a replacement job. IF you are a contractor and offered a role at Medtronic, Have one foot in and one foot out. Have another gig or job ready to go. Medtronic does not care about you. The team may, but Medtronic does not. You're just a number to the top Managers to look good and when they look bad they'll dump you to say "I saved money"
