Pros

You can get benefits, though you have to pay for them. You can qualify for some paid vacation after a year of employment Most positions are part of the UAW Based on your hours accumulated you get raises The company has a scholarship you can apply for to use toward your education after working for a year 10% discount on general merchandise There is room to advance if you are looking to stay for a long time The scheduling is generally flexible around your availability, making it possible to work two jobs or go to school.

Cons

No discount on grocery items or health & beauty The advancement opportunities, at least in the service department, only offer a $.25 raise if you get promoted to t service coordinator position and that is not worth the extreme hassle and stress of the position. Holidays in retail are stressful You are expected to work holidays and most weekends

Pros

You get paid weekly, most units expect same from all people. Workers did way more than what they got paid for. Loved the friendships I started there.

Cons

Dont plan a vacation because the week will be blacked out and reservations will be nonrefundable because you get such short notice. Basiclly Jan and Feb you can get maybe a week after that you go into summer . Aug You may b\get some time off. Otherwise dont plan on it. Even when authorized ahead of time it can be taken away. Expected to do more than 8 hrs of work in 8 hrs. Absentee points should not be given for family illness if you can prove it. High stress level. Insurance pricey.
