Horrible experience

Pros

10% discount on general merchandise, everything based on seniority so you will be set if you are there long enough

Cons

Management didn't know what they were doing and were unwilling to help. I skipped my paid breaks and my lunch, would stay late every night and would still get yelled at for not getting all the work done. Union couldn't do anything to help so I was forced to pay union dues for nothing

My Review of Meijer

Pros

It was a good job to get right after college. I learned to work with the public and serve. I worked in utility during the summer so that was a great way to burn off all that college weight. I worked my way up to working produce then stock. It's a great place with a lot of opportunity to switch areas.

Cons

The manager was unprofessional and couldn't relate to his workers.

Pros

Great store manager. Flexible shifts to work around you especially if you're a college student.

Cons

Standing for long periods of time, breaks are a challenge if you work at the front of the store and have to walk all the way in the back to break room, I was a front end cashier and it was an okay position if you don't mind redundant work.
