Pros

Works with class schedule for the most part, co-workers make it worth it (sometimes), good starting job, decent pay if you stay awhile (+2 years or more). Some Team leaders/ management are somewhat understanding and helpful. If you ask for the hours, you are most likely to get them, but they can overwork you. Ability to transfer if you need to move, they have many locations.

Cons

Management is either too strict or doesn't care, have to work for several years to get even close to decent pay, both customers and leadership do not appreciate you and your hard work, you can get written up/terminated for miniscule things and without warning, moving up in the company involves moving up into jobs that do not include much better pay but much more stress, management does not help team members (maybe rarely). You also don't learn anything to prepare you for other postions/jobs, no formal training if there is any training.

Pros

Before Fred Meijer passed, it was a great place to work. We had opportunities to step up to management, raises were based on how hard you worked, special parties and perks for hard work. Flexible scheduling.

Cons

After Fred Meijer passed, we now have reduced pay as well hours. Not enough workers, don't get paid to train. Disrespectful managers, who do not listen. A new point system, which has fired many people who have worked there for years. I highly recommend, Do Not Work here. It is the most stressful, under paying job I've ever had.

Pros

You're basically left alone for most of the night and you don't interact with many customers. If you don't like dealing with difficult customers, and management this job might be appealing to you.

Cons

Low pay. Very high turn-over-- some nights we wouldn't even have enough guys to finish our live loads so the managers had to actually help out.
