Just about everything else. I've worked here for a year now and I am one of only 3 remaining service employees, non management, who were employed when I started working here. We are constantly understaffed with most new hires averaging a week before they quit and a vast majority of those quitting after 1-3 days. I was lied to about the position I applied for being no longer available, when in fact it was a tactic used by the hiring staff to rope people into different departments. I was told starting wage was 12.50 but was never told how to check what my wages were( it was actually 11.20 when I eventually discovered how to check). I'm constantly forced to work outside as a courtesy clerk even though it not being the position I had applied for or agreed to work, in the blazing sun and freezing rain and snow of the winter along with other courtesy clerks who were making a dollar less than me and working in the same terrible weather everyday. Management staff is by far the most incompetent I have ever had the displeasure of working under. We are constantly subject to having to stay after our shift are over(even up to 4.5 hours), and I don't receive the courtesy of at least having a consistent schedule. I'm constantly having my work ethic and labor criticized even though I have had the highest efficiencies, toping managers and supervisor in my department, for months at a time and an inconceivable amount of positive feedback from customers. The lack of control management has over customers is unbecoming of an establishment, especially during the trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic. I sat outside pushing carts for hours in the freezing rain and snow and got sick because of it hand to call out the next day, but instead of apologizing for them being the cause of it, I received my first performance dock 8 months after being hiring(this was also my first call in on record). I now make $12.50 an hour after subsequent raises but newly hired employees are receiving the exact same wage regardless of my loyalty to the company over the last year. The Meijer union make it seem as though they fight for our ability to voice our concerns with the store, management, etc. But they do not. All we do is receive achievers points at certain points of the year that can be redeemed for items, gift card and merchandise online. Except the union does not tell you of the tax that is imposed on anything you redeem your points for. Only that it will be taken out of your next check, you don't know how much you just have to wait. Considering how low my pay is already my first and only redemption left me with not enough money to pay my upcoming bills. Meaning I literally cannot afford to participate in the "free company benefits". The only thing keeping me from leaving is the weekly pay, convenience of the store location, and the connections I have made with a few employees and supervisors who share the same problems as I do.
