Pros

Being in the pharmacy, you are in a close knit group of people. You feel like you are actually saving lives and you learn a lot about pharmaceuticals! very marketable skills.

Cons

The pay is terrible. Pharmacists are making 6 times what you make, but you do most of the leg work. It is a high paced environment. raises are negligible. Your evaluation is almost always underestimated and you only get a couple cents raise. my last one went up 12 cents.

Pros

high standards are the norm. There is a process for everything, so just follow the playbook. Benefits are great as are the bonuses.

Cons

Expect to remain in your position for a long time. There is no automatic reshuffling of roles to keep people fresh. If you do an exceptional job, expect to remain in your position. If you volunteer to do the night shift you can expect to be there a very long time. Almost no one in mangement wants to do overnight and no one can force anyone to move so you can go back to days. Often times the company has to look outside the company for candidates to work overnight. There are very few people to do the jobs around the store. Expect to do a lot if necessary. Don't expect help from anyone else. They run Supercenters with fewer people than other retailers. This is a union environment. Wages for employees working the GM side start at $7.25 and this is the same rate that is paid to overnight associates. You have to find people who decide to work overnight for you as a lifestyle choice. Other wise, expect a lot of turnover.

Pros

The co-workers are all in the same boat. If things are good, everyone can enjoy working together. If things are bad, they understand. You are never alone in your thoughts or feelings on how the company is doing.

Cons

You can bust your butt day in and day out. Every task assigned to you can be completed in record time with quality and efficiency. But if you are 2 minutes or more late for work or coming back from break, you're no better than the people who don't do a dang thing the entire time they are there. Matter of fact, as long as they're on time, nothing will ever be done or said about the fact that they accomplish nothing during their entire shift.
