Pros

Good place to work, room for advancement if you are at the right place at the right time. Relatively flexible, good people to work around.

Cons

Upper management is slow to react, sometimes no reaction at all. Most people are only there to receive a paycheck with little to no concern on doing jobs right.

Pros

Excellent managers and reasonable pay. We were given the best training in our field, and it definately showed. They were flexible with hours, and in general, it is a pleasant place to work.

Cons

One manager is in charge of 8-10 stores, which makes it hard to receive feedback. Some areas have team members who are doing the job of 4-5 people, due to cutbacks.

Pros

Fairly decent place to work in regards to a corporate office environment. Really great cafeteria on site, discounts on local gyms, employee discounts at the stores, and opportunities for growth if you ask for training.

Cons

Very traditional company with an entrenched good old boys network. Coming from the outside mid-career is a very difficult experience. Be prepared for a degree of hazing, as well as a discounting of your experiences or skill set just because you didn't start in the stores at age 16. Don't expect to have the latest technology in either hardware or software. Middle management is focused solely on pleasing leadership and can at times be disrespectful or disregarding of lower level employees. Training can be difficult to obtain and at most times substandard. Professional memberships and conferences in your specific industry are inconsistently distributed by department. Expect shakeups in hierarchy to management and leadership on a regular basis leading to projects that never end, solutions never implemented, and frustrated rank and file.
