Pros

I llove the job that I am assigned to do. The people are inspiring. I love helping a person find what they need in our store, and having them satisfied.

Cons

1. There is little consideration for an employee;s feelings. It is all about business needs. Meijer promotes famliness, however, rareley gives it. if you choose to become a manger there, be sure to plan on missing everything from you child's birthday, to Christmas Eve. 2. You get very little feedback from senior management. If you have completed a work list, and have done it well, they are sure to find SOMETHING wrong with it, because it wasn't 'their" idea. 3. The labor we are given is VERY srigent. NOT enough people to completely take care of anything! 4. The stress level is so high some days. I know t=of 2 people that have had heart attacks in the last year because of the demand of the job.

Pros

The people that I work with at my store are have become some of my closest friends over the year that I've worked there. Overall, for a college kid trying to have an income, it's not a bad place to work. I don't always get all of the hours I want, but they are actually flexible about scheduling and time off when you put it in on time, expect around the holidays. My bosses are very well liked and it is a company that varies a lot from store to store, but that what makes each store different then the one down the road from it.

Cons

People often think that "we get taken advantage of" and stuff like that...not really. The customers are the worse part of the job. Some of the idiots that I have to deal with on a daily basis drive me NUTS. The only think that really gets me is when I want 30 hours a week, but I only get scheduled for 20. Also, our schedules for the next week aren't posted until the Saturday before.
