Pros

Its a job. In today's economy you need to take a job whenever you can get it to bring in income until you can move to a better job. One thing for sure you will have fellow coworkers who hate the job right along with you!

Cons

Their stupid write ups for every little doggone thing. And I mean everything. I had a lines manager tell me and this is the God's honest truth. "It doesn't matter if you have a doctor's excuse or in the hospital or what if you are schedule to be here you must be here!" We had a cashier who feel ill, rushed to the hospital, missed work and got wrote up for it! Another one got wrote up for missing work for a funeral! Would you get wrote up if you died on the job? Probably!

Pros

good locations, nice big stores friendly workers

Cons

Careers here are a joke unless you know someone. Hard to communication when the managers are not around or too busy bossing. When Fred Meijer retired and handled the reins to his sons it was a terrible mistake for they are going to run his store his vision into the ground. Store meeting that were just a piece of paper that everybody signs, break rooms in the back of the store so your break was mostly over by the time you get there.

Pros

Co-workers are friendly and easy to work with. If you work in a department you like and you are lucky enough to have managers that respect you and listen to what you need from an employer, the job is tolerable. The work, however, is tedius and will drive you crazy in the long run.

Cons

Low wages, expectations too high. Management expects long hours of extremely fast paced work to be conducted with a giant painted smile on your face to ensure customers that you love working for the store they are shopping in. The reality remains that you can't wait to clock out at the emd of the day and desperately want another job, but they are just not available in these times.
