Pros
I was completely fooled by Meijer and how they appear to act as a company. I wanted to work and foolishly gave up good positions to work there. It is really enlightening that employees who formerly worked for Walmart told me Walmart paid better and treated their employees better than Meijer does. I would not know about their health insurance as I was misled about my timeframe to enroll and their benefits center essentially told me it is not their problem that HR and management never mentioned this. Funny at every other job I had that was FT it was brought up the first day. The only positive was the non-management associates. They were the only reason I stayed as long as I did and I tried everything in my power to stay and try to make it work.
Cons
First things first, they will throw you under the bus at any time they can. They would rather see someone fail than help them succeed. This is not just me, I am not kidding, they purposely set people up to fail. It is rather embarrassing when as I was staying in a hotel while looking for housing in the area that hotel management would ask me why Meijer would litter onto their property and Meijer management just blew them off and said it wasn't their problem. They believe they are too big to fail.
