Pros

A check after working 60 hours but only paid for 48 hours??? Paid holidays? Working every holiday although Meijer only pays for 5 holidays a year?

Cons

Not rewarding, too many hours, no work life balance. They say the have values but don't practice any of them. Rude and inexperienced store directors. Corporate is disconnected from the reality in the stores. Dirty stores, unclean employees, under stocked, expired food on shelves and just a bad company.

Pros

Team member discount. I love my coworkers, I truly feel a sense of comradery and I've only been working here for a few months. My coworkers alone are the only reason I don't completely dread going in. The workday goes by fast too. There is a lot to learn but I like being in the know of the healthcare world. A very mentally stimulating job to say the least. Some customers are cool to talk to as well. There is some room for advancement, you start at level 1, and a take a test to advance to the next level. Level 4 is highest. You get a raise with each level up. The fact that the pharmacy is only open til 9pm is probably a pro for most people, I kind of wish they would stay open later. Maybe not necessarily 24 hours but at least til 10 or 11pm. I work another day job and I would like to be able to work evenings during the week so I won't have to sacrifice weekends all the time. My team leader told me the shortest shift we are allowed to work is 5 hours.

Cons

My team leader is intimidating.. I try not to talk to her just because I fear her wrath.. :b and some customers can be really angry people. I've heard all sorts of creative insults and vulgarities. But those feelings of rage from the other side of the counter just come with the territory. Dealing with insurance mishaps is the root of all our misery. & there's the occasional, "where's my damn [insert scheduled drug here]?!?" And they're about 14 days too soon to refill.. I didn't have much medical work experience prior to being hired but as a college grad, I had hoped to make $12 hourly.. Something resembling a living wage.. One can dream. At my first interview they said they could give me ten, but they ended up starting me at 9.50 instead. There is no union for the pharmacy staff. So you're only allowed one half hour lunch break. I don't like the point system.. If you're 2+ mins late clocking in, it's half a point. After however many points, you get the boot. My fellow coworkers, who were hired long before I was, all work 40 hour weeks.. But are they considered full time? No. No change in their meager benefits. I've heard complaints from the moms saying they can't get their kid(s) on their insurance policy. & once you're through training you are expected to work every other weekend, at least. TLDR; customers, possibly fellow staff, low pay, not enough benefits.
