Pros

Melaleuca is a company founded on strong core values. This is apparent in our mission statement, “To enhance the lives of those we touch by helping people reach their goals.” Every decision that is made in this company relates back to this principle. If you find yourself connecting with the mission statement then you’d be a perfect fit with this company. There is great opportunity for increased responsibility, which leads to accelerated personal development and advancement. Customer experience and satisfaction is one of Melaleuca's highest priorities. As a result, 96% customers who shop at Melaleuca this month, will return and shop again next month. This customer loyalty propelled Melaleuca to achieved $2 billion in sales in 2017. Additional Benefits Include: Each year the company hosts a picnic and a Christmas party with great games, food, entertainment, and prizes. Employees receive a $90 product certificate each month to redeem on several of the over 400+ high quality wellness products. The global headquarters houses a fitness center where employees can lift weights, exercise, and attend group training classes.

Cons

As a consequence to placing customers as a top priority, each end of the month can result in extended hours. While this can be challenging, these hours are usually full of engaging activities. This is a high paced, duty centered environment. Each team member is expected to perform at an elevated level. While this can seem overwhelming to some, it is an incredible opportunity to prove oneself and further develop one’s skillset.

Pros

Melaleuca is a wonderful company to work for that allows you to enhance your current career or develop a new one. I have never been with a company that invests so much into each and every employee. The employee benefits are amazing! I suffer with a health disease, and I am especially grateful for our amazing affordable health insurance, as well as the long list of other benefits we receive. Our work facility is state-of-the-art; offering a fitness center, and an on-site restaurant, with many options and affordable prices. I feel like I am with family when I go to work every day.

Cons

Melaleuca is a very fast-paced company and not for someone that wants to idol through an 8am-5pm day. My position is very stressful and requires me to be available outside of normal working hours and most weekends. I manage time sensitive projects and often deal with many people. After hours calls are often emergencies and require special attention to detail and fast thinking. My position is very specialized and takes years of training, most of which are on the job. I sometimes feel like my expertise (25+yrs.) is often overlooked, as many don't understand what it takes to be in my position

Pros

I would only recommend working here ONLY if I HAD to live in the Idaho Falls area, and I mean if your spouse was going to leave you if you didn't live in Idaho Falls/surrounding area. I would recommend this place ONLY if you enjoy going to a employee recognition meeting but 85% is spent on how great the management is and how lucky you are to work there. The remaining 30 minutes (after 3-4 hours) will then be spent hastily thanking people who have been there for a while. I would also recommend working here ONLY if you like manipulating numbers to fit a story that management wants, not what is actually happening. On two different occasions I was told how the data was to support the story that management wanted instead of what it actually said. To the point where I was told to delete the data. Health insurance is actually ok but I don't believe it will stay that way.

Cons

Most positive reviews here are by Marketing Executives who are not actual employees but are like independent distributors or by the management team so they can inflate the rank. I recommend reading the lower reviews to get a more realistic view of the culture at Melaleuca. Pay raises are below average for most employees. 401K is well below average for a company that size, for the region, and for the profitability. Culture is one of micromanagement and covering your butt. Managers (everyone there is a manager because there are no leaders) micromanage their employees or else they know they will face the wrath of the person above them. The person above them in turn will also feel the wrath of their manager, all the way up to Frank, who pushes down this type of culture on everyone. With this fear everyone is worried about covering their butt so that they can point the finger which usually entails managers passing the blame down to individual employees instead of running interference. However if praise comes down the line, it somehow seems to stop before it reaches the employees. I consider Melaleuca more political than Congress. If you were to open a dictionary created by Melaleuca, Meritocracy would still be undefined because it is not recognized by their management team. Be prepared to have the Sunday blues (read everyday blues) on a regular basis. The work isn't too difficult, but the management makes it unbearable. Most people are able to finish their job in a 25-30 hour work week but need to be looking busy for the extra 20 hours that Melaleuca wants you in your seat. To quote, "If you're not in your seat and visible, then Frank doesn't think you're working."
