Pros

I liked the benefits here. Decent Health Care benefits and 401k plans. There were a few fun perks such as free products, a built-in gym, and cafeteria. Some holidays off.

Cons

Many of the reviews I see here are by "marketing executives." It's SO important to realize these are NOT actually EMPLOYEES of the company. They are simply selling Melaleuca products. BIG difference! There is no room for personal growth. Unless you are related to someone in upper management. Or if you are willing to kiss upper management's behind the most. Compensation is awful. For the area I suppose it's about as high as you will get, but they are truly holding back on employee earning rates. You are subject to the big man's very conservative opinions in every aspect of work. He does not take advice from anyone, why should he have to when he is a millionaire. He also is very lawsuit happy. If you look up his name, plus the word lawsuit, you will find several dozens. It's not for the money, so you can assume it's for the power trip. They also have a horrid structure for raises, promotions, and terminations. I feel there would be a lot more lawsuits against the upper management if they weren't so threatening. These are just my own observations. Take it for what it's worth!

Pros

Ye shall be asked to work upon a great many things, some with which ye may have some knowing, some which ye may not. 'Tis a great opportunity to learn the knowing of many things, but beware ye - For though ye shall know not, still ye shall be held accountable as if ye were an expert.

Cons

Beware lads, the gilded cage! Beware the honeyed words which doth flow from the mouths of their shanghai-men, lure'n ye to the boat with offers of paid moving expenses, bonuses and other coin. For once ye enter, ye might never leave. This boat sails to parts where there be Dragons, and not much else. Really. It's a desert. Figuratively also, in terms of other employment opportunities in the area. Ahem... Also beware ye that the slave drivers, the whip-crackers, care nothing for yer suff'rin, for they too are weigh'd upon from above.. and atop the pyramid rests the one who drives the great engine forth, heedless of the grind'n down of the parts b'neath him. This is why I warn ye to beware the gilded cage - It might look inviting, the coin great, but once ye step inside, and ye can see closer, the gold is naught but paint, peel'n and dry... and yer naught but a part in the great machine, used 'till yer ground up and trapp'd, unable to find 'nother gainful employ. Ye may read upon this great plank the honeyed words of the shnaghai-men, dress'd up as great flow'rd 'reviews'. Know ye that the Gilded Cage has paid, full-time employs whose job is only to freshen the paint, hide the cracks, and ush'r more hapless sods inside. YE HAE' BEEN WARNED! Okay seriously.. Idaho Falls is a great place to live but be aware that if you ever want to leave Melaleuca, you might as well plan to leave the area. There's almost no other IT jobs in the area that pay... which is not an accident. This is how the pay can be depressed and your only options will be to leave the area or deal with the abuse. Also.. get ready to go back to the 80s! You'll be stack-ranked using metrics which are abstract enough to shoehorn a DBA, Web Developer and Systems engineer into the same silo! And in a move designed to channel the inner Whose Line Is It Anyway, the points are made up and the metrics don't matter! After you go through the embarrassing stack ranking and get the feedback from management, get ready for the entire thing to change as your previous ranking is completely different in Round 2! That's right, folks, it's basically a crap shoot - I hope you remembered to smile at the right executives and your groveling was sufficient, or with no real reason (don't worry, one will be created) you can find yourself at the bottom year after year!

Pros

Generally, good people work there. They believe in the products they sell, and have some decent products. They work hard to shed the MLM label. Work/life balance is great. Free gym membership. Castle-sized new building. They value longevity. If you're looking for a place to land where you can put in an easy day's work until you retire, it's perfect for you.

Cons

They value the people working the downlines much more than the corporate employees. Promotion is based on kissing up to management, not performance. If you're looking to work for a creative company, this isn't it. They'll give you plenty of busywork, and dictate how you do it. Their marketing is way behind the times. No integration whatsoever between the creative team and the web team.
